NDOW and the Nevada Department of Conservation and Natural Resources are excited to announce the transfer of more than 23,000 acres of wetlands and pasture from the Bureau of Reclamation and Bureau of Land Management - Nevada to the State of Nevada! The transfer of the area referred to as Carson Lake and Pasture in Churchill County will ensure the long-term management and protection of crucial wildlife habitat, while expanding both wildlife viewing and recreation opportunities! A big thank you goes to all state and federal partners that made this happen, along with conservation partners including the Nevada Waterfowl Association, National Audubon Society, and Ducks Unlimited. A special thank you goes to the century-old Greenhead Duck Club that has successfully managed and operated the area since 1912!
I wanted to send a special thank you to everyone who puchased tickets for today's raffle. We are all hoping that we can get together in Reno and Fallon in 2021 for our annual events and COVID will be a thing of the past!
