Wood Duck Nest Box Checks
in Fallon
Saturday, February 15th
8 am till 2 pm
Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) is organizing an event for Saturday, February 15th to check the condition of wood duck nest boxes near Fallon, Nevada.
Volunteers will assist in monitoring and cleaning out the wood duck boxes placed at specific locations.
Volunteers will meet in Fallon around 8:00 am and participate until approximately 2:00 pm. You will be assigned a location to check, and clean as many boxes as possible.
You must provide your own transportation to get from the meeting area to the assigned property. NDOW will provide step ladders, buckets, and fresh shavings to go into the boxes. We recommend bringing your own gloves, and small hand tools, and if you have your own step ladder, consider bringing it.
This is an excellent project for groups.
Note: The opportunity is completely outdoors and requires walking outdoors, near water, and over uneven terrain.
You must register through the NDOW Volunteer Page. Details about the event and meeting areas will be sent out to registrants the week of February 10th.
